Ladouceur brothers race on Cornwall track

Alexandria stock car racing brothers Joey Ladouceur and Lee Ladouceur were captured in this August 4 photo by Rick Young, at Cornwall Motor Speedway. The Ladouceurs are regulars at the track, as is Young who keeps a record of the drivers through his images. His work is showcased here on his website.

Soccer at nighttime

On Friday night, I attended a late evening senior men’s soccer team, as Glen Sandfield and Dunvegan met on the Lochiel pitch, in week two Glengarry Soccer League action. As part of my job as sports editor for The Glengarry News, I regularly attend GSL matches to shoot photographs that I can include on my sports pages in the newspaper. The adult divisions of the league play their games in the evening, starting at 8:30 p.m.

I will have the latest results in the June 5 issue of The News, and my photos from last week’s match will be available in an online gallery on the newspaper’s website (glengarrynews.ca/photos).

Canoe race to take to Raisin River on Sunday

The annual Raisin River Canoe Race will take place Sunday, April 14, 2019, running 30+ km downstream from St. Andrew’s West through Martintown to Williamstown.

This is one of the highlights of the local sports calendar (as well as for my job), and once again I will be out shooting photos of the event.

You can check out my online pre-race story for The Glengarry News posted here. There is still time to register to participate, and spectators are encouraged to come out and cheer paddlers on along the route.

My latest photos for The Glengarry News

It was a busy sports week for The Glengarry News, as I shot reams of photos, including images of junior boys high school basketball, senior boys high school basketball, peewee girls hockey, and junior ‘B’ hockey.

These galleries, along with my past ones, can be viewed online here. All photos are owned by The Glengarry News. Reprints are available for purchase from the newspaper.

Raisin River Canoe Race scheduled for Sunday

This year’s edition of the Raisin River Canoe Race is set to take place Sunday, April 15, running the usual course from St. Andrews West, downstream through Martintown to Williamstown. Unfortunately for participants and spectators alike, the weather is looking decidedly un-spring-like.

I have a story in this week’s edition of The Glengarry News to help you get ready, and as usual, I will be on the river shooting photos of the action.
