Alexandria’s Kieran Craig recognized for community involvement by Gatineau Olympiques

In recognition for his extensive community involvement, Kieran Craig, from Alexandria, is his team’s nominee for the LHJMQ Humanitarian Trophy.

The bilingual member of the Gatineau Olympiques, a graduate from Le Relais, had a career season in Quebec’s major junior hockey league, scoring 48 points in 64 games, before the campaign was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (The league’s remaining regular-season games and playoffs were subsequently cancelled.)

Off the ice, Craig has been a leader, with school presentations, support of blood drives, and hospital visits.

In the announcement of his selection, the 18-year-old is described as “a true ambassador for the organization,” the Gatineau Olympiques hockey club.

The league is scheduled to make the announcement of the award winner on May 12.
