For the second straight year, the boys golf team from Alexandria’s École secondaire catholique Le Relais has won the Franco golf championship. The September 20 tournament, held in Casselman, saw the foursome of Jeremy Chénier, Tyler Séguin, Jeffrey Willard, and Maxime Brunet, under the guidance of coach Françis Charlebois, prevail in the recreational division (best ball), beating out 31 other teams. Les Rapides shot 61 to finish 11 under par at the at the Casselview Golf Club.
Charlebois tells me, “The boys played a really good round. Overall, all of them played off their strengths and came in clutch with a lot of shots. They made a lot of clutch putts as well (Tyler sunk a 35 footer for a birdie).”
