Tonight is the start of the final fall session of the Glengarry Run Club’s learn to run eight-week training program. Three levels, depending on experience, are available, with twice weekly classes, taught be experience long-distance runner Jacob Cameron.
Training takes place outdoors, regardless of weather conditions, Mondays and Thursday, beginning at 7 p.m., at Alexandria’s Island Park. For more information, check out the Facebook Page here.
Green Valley’s Jacob Cameron won the 11 km distance of the Great Raisin River Footrace, crossing the finish line in 34 minutes, 22.1 seconds, besting runner-up Todd Piquette by nearly six minutes.
In the 5 km race, Isaac Fraser topped the field, with a best time of 16 minutes, 37.6 seconds, edging out Matthew Houlzet (17:03.9) and Tristan Bombardier (17:38.1).
The top female on the 11 km course was Gabrielle Laframboise (43:50.5), and on the 5 km run it was Zoe McIntosh (20:58.6).
