Fresh of their SD&G championships, Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School’s boys basketball teams, senior and junior, are competing today at EOSSAA.
As I previously reported, the senior Falcons are seeded first at the tournament in Perth. The round-robin portion of the tourney is underway, with Holy Trinity dropping the opening game to the host PDCI team 67-50. Cornwall’s St. Lawrence Saints, the SD&G runners-up, are also at the competition, seeded fourth. The top two teams in each pool advance to day two action tomorrow.
There is a livestream of the action available for viewing on the UCDSB TV channel here.
The junior EOSSAA tournament is a one-day event being hosted today by St. Lawrence, in Cornwall. As reported in this earlier post, the SDGAA-champion Falcons are seeded first, having beaten the Saint in the S&G title match last week, at Holy Trinity.
As of this posting, two games are already in the books, with the Saints falling to Almonte 79-18 in the opener, while the Falcons topped Earnestown 64-50 in their first game.
Online viewing is available here. HT’s next match is set for a 1:30 p.m. tip-off, with St. Lawrence following at 3 p.m.
The top team from each pool will play for the EOSSAA championship, starting at approximately 6 p.m.
St. Lawrence High School is located at 1450 Second Street East, in Cornwall.
