It’s a must-win situation for the Cornwall Prowlers in their EOSHL semifinal series, as the squad looks to draw even with the Deseronto Bulldogs at the civic complex tonight.
The Sunday evening game is set for a 6:30 p.m. start.
Saturday saw the Prowlers overcome a five-goal deficit in Deseronto, only to fall in overtime, in a 6-5 game one decision.
The host Bulldogs built a 5-0 lead through the 19:12 mark of the second period. Cornwall got on the board in the waning seconds of the frame, when Devon Burns scored, assisted by Alan Legue and Nick Dixon.
In the third, Jeff Clarke, Brian Landry, Tristan Perreault-Gagnon, and Burns again found the back of the Deseronto net. Picking up the helpers were James Kirkwood (3), Kenny Neil (2), Marc Andre Labelle, Perreault-Gagnon, and Matt Romain.
Frederic Roy took the loss in net, despite making 40 saves.
Each team scored one on the powerplay, as Cornwall went one-for-eight, while Deseronto was one-for-nine.
Should the favoured Prowlers (14-2-2-0) beat the Bulldogs (5-12-0-1) tonight, there will be a deciding game three in Cornwall. Date, time, and rink to be announced.
The winner of this semifinal series will face off with the West Carleton Rivermen in the inaugural senior ‘A’ championship finals.
