Fresh off a thrilling game one of their EOSHL semifinal series on the road playing the West Carleton Rivermen, the Maxville Millionaires will host game two tonight, looking to square the series.
The start is set for 8 p.m. at the Maxville arena, also known as the Vault.
The series opened was a wild one that saw the Millionaires open the game with a 2-0 lead, only to see the Rivermen go on a seven-goal run. However, 15:17 into the extra session, West Carleton’s Brett Gustavsen ended it, sealing an 8-7 final.
On the night, Maxville goaltender Miguel D’Aoust made 37 saves, while Dave Stathos at the other end of the ice stopped 22.
Connor MacLeod paced the Millionaires offence with a five-point night (1 goal, 4 assists), while Bradley Gabbour had a trick. His effort included the game-tying tally at the 18:02 mark of the third period.
It was also a three-point game for Calvin Wojtaszak (1 goal, 2 assists). Other offensive contributors were Adam Wensink (1 G, 1 A), Braedan Pearl (1 G, 1 A), Vincent Crockett (2 A), Chris Rutley (1 A), Pierre-Luc Sabourin (1 A), and Matt Thompson (1 A).
