The Char-Lan junior ‘B’ Rebels won on the road Friday night, edging the Embrun Panthers 2-1 in overtime, for their lone win in three tries last week.
Noah Konink notched the game-winner 3:43 into the extra session, assisted by Owen Carter and Joseph Samson.
Konink, along with Isaac Testani, assisted on a second-period marker by Samson, which at the time gave the Rebels a 1-0 lead. The Panthers tied the contest in the early stages of the third frame.
Ceili Picard made 40 saves in net to record the victory.
The win was flanked by a pair of home-ice losses.
On Tuesday, the Winchester Hawks visited the Char-Lan Rec. Centre for a make-up date. The Rebs lost 5-3, with Matthew Varnovitski scoring twice and Testani once. Assists went to Liam MacDonald (2), Jacob Esdale, Alexandre Elie, and Hunter MacPherson.
Saturday evening saw the Ottawa Jr. Canadians steamroll the Rebels 5-1. Elie Scored the Char-Lan goal, set up by Griffin Patterson and MacDonald.
The Rebs enter this week with a record of 14-15-2 for sixth place in the CCHL2 Martin Division. Three games are on tap for the boys: Thursday night in Casselman, Saturday on home ice hosting Brockville at 8 p.m., and Sunday afternoon in Richmond.
