Rebels, Glens set for Friday night Battle of Glengarry in Alexandria

The Glengarry Sports Palace in Alexandria will be rocking tonight, January 31, as the arena hosts the Battle of Glengarry, junior ‘B’ hockey’s rivalry between the Glens and the Char-Lan Rebels.

The Glens are looking for their third straight home-ice win, after prevailing the last two Fridays over Richmond and Whitewater, respectively. Alexandria lost last night on the road to the Ottawa West Golden Knights, 5-3. Nicolas Corry scored twice, with the other Glens tally netted by Andy Lightle-Blais, who also nabbed an assist. Other helpers went to Nicolas Ouellette, Reese Donnelly, and Zachary Power.

Char-Lan is also coming off a loss, having dropped a January 26 road game in Richmond, 5-2.

In the only previous meeting this season, back on October 11, the Rebels prevailed over the Glens 5-2.

In the division standings, Char-Lan is sixth, with 32 points, while the Glens are relegated to the basement, with 17 points.
