Martintown’s Brennan Seguin, a pole vaulter at the University of Guelph, continues to work on his technique and aim for higher results in his second year of U-Sports competition.
Before the Christmas break, he competed at the Varsity Blues Invitational. In the December 14 indoor event, Seguin achieved a best height of 4.91 metres.
He tells me that during this early part of the season he is working on short approach, which means “I run from a shorter approach as it is easier to work on technique.”
Seguin is a graduate of Char-Lan DHS and was introduced to the sport of pole vaulting by local coach Rory Blackadder.
