St. Joe’s solidifies hold on 1st place in high school girls hockey

In SDGAA high school girls hockey action Monday in Finch, the St. Joseph’s Panthers solidified their grasp of top spot, remaining perfect on the season, as the girls skated to a trio of victories.

The Tagwi Warriors entered the December 16 tournament sporting a 3-0 record but saw their record drop, as they went 1-1-1 on the day. The Double Blue opened with a 2-2 tie versus La Citadelle, before edging Holy Trinity 3-2. The Warriors concluded their day by falling to St. Joseph’s, 3-1.

Aside from beating Tagwi, the Panthers also got past the Falcons 1-0 and Glengarry 6-1.

In other action, the Gaels fell to les Patriotes 4-1, while Char-Lan was blanked 4-0 by La Citadelle and 2-0 by Holy Trinity.

The league’s next tournament is scheduled for January 7 in Williamstown.
