Girls high school volleyball: Gaels seniors second, juniors third

Heading into the two-week Christmas break, the GDHS senior girls volleyball team holds second place in the SDGAA league standings, while the junior squad is third.

In the senior table, Heritage leads with 18 points, having not dropped a set in six matches played to date. The Gaels have 10 points from four matches. Glengarry swept Char-Lan and St. Lawrence, but went the distance against Holy Trinity and St. Joseph’s.

The Crusaders currently rank third (8 points on four matches), followed by Tagwi (6 points on four matches), North Dundas (3 points on four matches), the Saints (3 points on seven matches), Seaway (2 points on five matches), and La Citadelle (2 points on four matches).

In the ‘AA’ senior group, the Panthers are first (10 points on six matches), followed by CCVS (8 points on four matches) and the Falcons (5 points on four matches).

The Devils and les Patriotes are tied for the lead in the junior ‘A’ group with 11 points on four matches. Glengarry is third with 9 points on four matches. The Dragons stand fourth (9 points on five matches), followed by St. Lawrence (6 points on six matches), Char-Lan (3 points on four matches), and Tagwi (0 points on one match).

The ‘AA’ junior leader is. Holy Trinity (6 points on three matches), with St. Joseph’s second (6 points on five matches) and the Raiders third (0 points on four matches).
