After falling behind 3-0 in the first period of play Friday night at the Glengarry Sports Palace, the Alexandria Glens rallied to draw even with the Ottawa Jr. Canadians and force overtime before falling 4-3 to the visiting squad in CCH2 action.
Kyle Joly, with his first of two on the night, started the comeback effort at the 17:52 mark of the second stanza, assisted by newly signed Etienne Agius-Pease and Austin Gàspàr.
Joly’s second marker came just past the three-minute mark of the third, set up by Lachlan MacDonald and Agius-Pease. The equalizer was notched by Nicolas Ouellette, assisted by Nico Pozzebon, with 87 seconds left in the game.
Ottawa scored the game-winner 4:21 into the extra session.
Named the game’s third star, Alexandria goaltender Danik Martin faced 50 shots on goal in the loss. The Glens were shut out in four power-play opportunities, while the Canadians scored twice in five chances with the man advantage.
