A night after recording a much-needed win, the Alexandria Glens found themselves struggling against the visiting Westport Rideaus, as the boys went down to a 6-1 Saturday night loss.
Goaltender Nicolas Rousseau was kept busy, dealing with 46 shots on goal, while Glens skaters mustered 35 the other way, with defenceman Nicolas Ouellette the only Alexandria player to score. His second-period marker at the time made the score 3-1. Zachary Bigras and Hunter MacPherson earned the assists on the scoring play.
The Glens were shut out in five power-play opportunities, while Westport was one for six with the man advantage.
The loss saw Alexandria’s record drop to 2 wins, 9 regulation losses, and 1 overtime loss, for 5 points and the basement position of the Martin Division of the CCHL2.
October 30 will see the squad hit the road to play the Arnprior Packers (4-7) to wrap up the month. Next home action is slated for November 1, with the Packers returning the visit. Game time at the Glengarry Sports Palace is set for 8 p.m.
