Char-Lan’s junior ‘B’ hockey team has a new defenceman, recently inking Noah Konink, a 20-year-old Long Sault native.
The former CCHL Cornwall Colt blueliner was signed by the Rebs on October 16.
In the 2016-17 season with the Colts, his last in Cornwall, Konink notched 13 points in 43 regular-season games. He also chalked up 28 penalty minutes. He added 2 points in 7 playoff matches that season.
The 5 ft. 11 in., 154 lb. D-man is slated to be in Char-Lan’s lineup this weekend, when the club is scheduled to host back-to-back contests at the Char-Lan Rec. Centre, in Williamstown.
On Saturday, starting at 8 p.m., the Rebs will take on the Renfrew Timberwolves, and on Saturday, beginning at 3:30 p.m., the boys will entertain the Perth Blue Wings.
In other recent roster moves, Char-Lan released defenceman Campbell Craig and goaltender Dawson Irving. The team also signed, as affiliated players, forward Cuyler Molinaro and goaltender Kamden Sabourin.
