The Cornwall senior ‘A’ Prowlers hockey team skated to a 9-7 victory over Deseronto yesterday, strengthening the team’s hold on first place in the Eastern Ontario Senior Hockey League standings, with a record of 4 wins and 1 overtime loss, for 9 points.
Jeff Clarke paced the offensive attack with a five-point effort (3 goals, 2 assists), while Bobby Dow and Marc Andre Labelle each contributed four assists. Other point-getters were Devon Burns (1 G, 1 A), JP Carey (1 G, 1 A), Dylan Stacey (1 G, 1 A), Gabriel Veilleux (1 G, 1 A), Adam Wensink (2 A), Eddie Slade (1 G), and Jacob Dawson (1 A).
Nicholas Dilabio backstopped the victory, making 31 saves in the hemp hut.
The Prowlers hold a two-point edge for the standings lead over West Carleton, which has a game in hand.
