Prowlers prevail, Millionaires fall short in senior A hockey

Saturday EOSHL action saw the Cornwall Prowlers skate to a 9-8 overtime victory on home ice, while on the road the Maxville Millionaires lost 7-4

Cornwall’s win came against visiting West Carleton, with Jeff Clarke notching the game-winner 11:24 into the extra session. It was Clarke’s sixth point of the contest. Assisting on the play were Bobby Dow and James Kirkwood.

Adam Wensink and Marc Andre Labelle, each scored twice in the game, and Brian Landry had one. Goaltender Frederic Roy made 36 saves.

Maxville’s loss came on the road in Deseronto where Millionaires Stevie Ray Adams, with two, Connor MacLeod, and Chris Newhook found the opposition net.

On the season, Maxville remains winless, at 0-3, while Cornwall leads the standings at 3-0-1. West Carleton is 2-0-1, and Deseronto is 2-2.
