The 2019-20 CCHL2 hockey season opened last week, with the Alexandria Glens dropping their two games, including the team’s home opener Friday night, a 2-1 loss to the Carleton Place Canadians.
While the Glens got a 36-save effort from goaltender Nicolas Rousseau, offensively the boys mustered just 21 shots on the Canadians net, with Tyson Allard’s second-period power-play marker the only one to count. Assisting on the play were Austin Gaspar and Zachary Bigras.
Alexandria dropped the puck on the season on the road September 17 in Ottawa, falling 4-1 to the Jr. Canadians. Bigras had the lone Glens goal, potted in the third period, set up by Jacob Lefebvre and Trystan Veilleux. Rousseau took the loss in net, making 28 saves. Alexandria had 30 shots on goal.
