Le Relais intermediate girls soccer team triumphs at tournament

The intermediate (Grade 7/8) girls soccer team from École secondaire catholique Le Relais in Alexandria topped the field at the September 24 CSDCEO (French Catholic school board) tournament, nabbing the championship amongst the 12 squads in contention.

Coached by Marc Séguin, les Rapides played to round-robin results of 7-0 versus Plantagenet, nil-nil with Casselman, and 3-1 against.

In the ‘A’ final, Le Relais battled La Citadelle. The game was back-and-forth action, says Séguin, with both schools getting great chances to score. At full time, the score stood at 1-1. A shootout was needed to decide the winner, and that’s how les Rapides prevailed.
