Alexandria’s Kieran Craig is back with the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL, for the 2019-20 season, in his second campaign in Quebec’s top junior league.
The forward played in 63 regular-season games last season, notching 15 points and recording 32 penalty minutes. He also dressed for five playoff contests, adding two assists.
The 18-year-old tells me that, even though he graduated high school last June (returning to le Relais to do so with his friends), he plans to take some additional courses this fall, in preparation for online university studies.
In the team’s last exhibition game, on September 8 versus the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, Craig scored, as the Olympiques prevailed 5-2.
Gatineau concludes its preseason play on September 15 against the Ottawa 67s, before beginning the regular campaign on the road in Drummondville, September 20.
