Last night in Casselman, the Char-Lan Rebels CCHL2 hockey team fell 5-2 to the Vikings, in exhibition action. Scoring for the Rebs were Tim Cook and Liam MacDonald, with assists from Joseph Samson (2), Paul
Last weekend, the team split a home-and-home series with the Alexandria Glens. In Williamstown Saturday evening, the Rebels lost 5-4 in a shootout. The boys were outshot in the shootout 2-1, their lone goal coming from Reese Donnelly.
Regulation goals were netted by Rylan Iwachniuk (2), Huntley, and Kale MacCormick. Apples were claimed by Samson, Aach Auger, and Donnelly.
The next night in Alexandria, Char-Lan prevailed 4-3, on goals from Taran Fiacco, Cook, Donnelly, and Samson (short-handed, game-winner). Assists went to Donnelly, Owen Carter, Iwachniuk, Samson, and Fiacco. Dawson Irving and Kamden Sabourin shared goatending duties, combining for 28 saves.
Char-Lan’s final exhibition contest is slated for Saturday, September 14, in Williamstown, with the Casselman Vikings visiting, for an 8 p.m. start.
