The Alexandria Glens of the CCHL2 added Bainsville’s Brendon Watson to their blueline group yesterday, in time for the team’s trip to Brockville, where the boys fell to the Tikis 7-4.
Watson, a 17-year-old product of the Cornwall Colts U18 system, was listed on the Char-Lan Rebels roster to start this season, but didn’t play any games with the team. The Glens were able to sign the 5 ft. 10 in., 184 lb. D-man and give up nothing in return.
According to his Elite Hockey Prospects bio, Watson played his minor hockey with the Eastern Ontario Wild, before moving up to the U18 Colts, of which he was a member the last two seasons. In 38 regular-season games over the 2018-19 season, Watson recorded 14 points and 39 penalty minutes. That season he also drew into the junior ‘B’ Rebels lineup 10 times, counting regular-season and playoff action.
