Jr. ‘B’ Glens add offensive punch for tonight’s home opener

The Alexandria junior ‘B’ Glens this week signed Alexim Veilleux, of Hawkesbury, with the 18-year-old forward set to be in the lineup tonight, for the team’s home opener, at the Glengarry Sports Palace, where the boys will host the Carleton Place Jr. Canadians, starting at 8 p.m.

Veilleux was signed from the Kanata Lasers of the CCHL. He had suited up in five games with the junior ‘A’ club this season, after playing 31 matches a year ago, split between the Cornwall Colts and Lasers.

He has typically slotted into the right wing and checks in at 5 ft. 8 in, 150 lb. Look for him wearing jersey number 28 tonight.

Alexim isn’t the only “Veilleux” on the team. There is also Trystan, a 20-year-old defenceman who hails from Hershey, Pennsylvania. He wears jersey number 10.

And if you were curious, the boys are related; they are brothers. Their father is Eric Veilleux, who coached QMJHL Halifax Mooseheads last season and is now an assistant coach with the AHL Syracuse Crunch.

Here’s the complete roster scheduled to hit the ice tonight.
