County (and region) youngsters aged 8 through 15 are participating on various Cornwall Wildcats tackle football rosters this fall, with the teams competing in the National Capital Amateur Football Association.
The mosquito squad participated last weekend in an event called Mosquito Madness, in Ottawa, playing three mini games against the Bell Warriors, the Gloucester South Raiders, and the North Gloucester Giants. The Wildcats shut out their opponents in posting three victories.
The action kicks off for real on Saturday, August 17, in the Ottawa area, where Cornwall’s two tyke squads, mosquito team, and peewee group will battle opponents on the gridiron. The Wildcats also have a bantam team this year, and that group will play in St. Lazare.
Cornwall’s home openers are set for the following Saturday, at Joe. St. Denis Field.
