Dunvegan claims GSL senior women’s crown

For the second straight year, the senior women’s soccer team from Dunvegan is the champion of the Glengarry Soccer League. The Blue Shirts completed the campaign on Thursday night, running the table unbeaten.

The final series, a two-game sweep, was capped off with a 1-0 win over Laggan, the lone goal scored by Ava Gandia in the 35th minute.

In addition to the playoff championship trophy, Dunvegan won first place during the regular season as well as best defensive team honours. The squad also saw individual members win as top scorer and best forward, and tie for best goalkeeper. (See this post for details on awards.)
